The Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) is one of the most esteemed and elite technical education institutions of the second fastest-growing major metropolis in India, or the “Silicon Valley of India”, Bengaluru. Of course, there is no wonder, taking into account that the motto itself of BIT Bangalore is “Technology for Prosperity”.

Bangalore Institute of Technology was found in 1979 under the aegis of the Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha and affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) by the great national poet Kuvempu. BIT is ranked under the 201-250 rank band of NIRF-India ranking for 2020 and is registered for NIRF India Ranking 2021.

 

Infrastructure

The beauty of the landscape of the campus complements the well-equipped and air-conditioned classrooms. In addition, the campus is ready for the best of students with its basic amenities, hostels, medical facilities, internet access, canteen and cafeteria, gym, auditorium, and sports grounds.

The Library is worth appreciation. The BIT Library started functioning alongside the college in 1979. The Central Library’s total collection includes over 83605 documents and 19750 titles covering the principal field of interest. All sorts of books, Print journals, E-Journals, Magazines, Standards, CDs, Project reports, etc., are made available to the students.

The departments are equipped with necessary laboratory equipment and facilities like EC & LD/ MP Lab, ADA/ Project Lab, Electrical Machines Lab, System Software, and Operating System Lab to ensure the best practical knowledge of the subjects students opt for.

The campus also has Digital Classrooms and Computer Centres to round things up to the best.

 

Faculty

The Engineering Department is further divided into Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and so on as per the specializations offered. Thus, the mastery of the faculty is distributed to all students. Similarly, the Basic Science departments include specializations in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. BIT also has a Department of Physical Education & Sports Science and units of NCC and NSS, Eco club to ensure extracurricular development of its students. Dr Aswath M.U, (BE, ME, PhD) is the college’s current Principal.

 

Bangalore Institute of Technology Fees

  • BIT offers B.Tech. (Bachelor of Technology) courses at an annual fee of 3.6 lakhs INR (USD 49,000).
  • BIT offers M.Tech. (Master of Technology) courses at an annual fee of 4.7 lakhs INR (USD 64,000).
  • BIT offers an MCA (Master of Computer Applications) course at an annual fee of 4.0 lakhs INR (USD 54,000).

Bangalore Institute of Technology Cut Off

I. Bangalore Institute of Technology - B.Tech.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Passed 12th standard/ two years of PUC. -Studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects scoring aggregate marks of 45% in both the subjects.
  • Studied Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination.
  • Concession to 40% marks given to SC/ST Cat-I students.

 

II. Bangalore Institute of Technology - M.Tech.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Passed B.Tech. degree of VTU or any other University recognized as equivalent by the VTU with at least four years of education and scored an aggregate of 50% marks.
  • Concession to 45% marks given to SC/ST Cat-I students.

 

III. Bangalore Institute of Technology - MBA

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Passed Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Application or Computer Programming or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects with at least three years of education and 50% marks.
  • Concession to 45% marks given to SC/ST Cat-I students.
  • Passed any one of the entrance exams such as KMAT / MAT / PGCET

 

IV. Bangalore Institute of Technology - MCA

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Passed Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Application or Computer Programming or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects with at least three years of education and 50% marks.

Follow the below steps to apply for admission

1.Download the application form for the course you are applying from the official website of Bangalore Institute of Technology and fill in the form completely.

2.Ensure that you bring the required documents for management quota/ CET & COMED-K along with you at the time of admission for verification purpose.

Students applying for admission under CET quota must pay 1st year BE admission fee of Rs 26,250 for the year 2020-21. The mode of payment is Demand draft. The DD is to be drawn in favour of "The Principal, B.I.T" payable at Bangalore.

The Department of Training & Placement of the Bangalore Institute of Technology aims at equipping the students with excellent employability and professional skills.
