VTU CIE Marks Submission 2021

VTU circular: VTU announces minimum Continuous Internal Evaluation(CIE) marks for students to be eligible for Semester End Examinations(SEE).

Submission of CIE(lA) Marks in respect of PG Course (III Sem MCA and I Sem MBA/MCA/M.Tech/M.Arch.)2019- 2020

The Principals of Constituent/Affiliated Engineering Colleges are requested to make arrangements for the submission of Marks of Continues Internal Evaluation - CIE(IA) in respect of odd semester 2019-2020 through online web portal.

Prerequisites for the submission of CIE marks

1.Faculty mapping must have been completed.

2.Principal approval must be done for the faculty data.

 

Procedure for the submission of CIE marks

1.URL: https://prexamblr.vtu.ac.in - for Bangalore Region

2.URL: https://prexam.vtu.ac.in- for Belagavi, Kalaburagi and Mysuru Region colleges.

3.Choose lA marks for PG Programs menu.

4.Departmental Login for IA Marks Entry- use departmental login Id

5.Principal Login - use principal login credentials.

6.In case of improved CIE marks and missing USNs in the list - a facility is provided in the application.

7.The instructions for the submission of CIE marks are already available in the website. Kindly follow the same.

Please note:

1.Improvement of CIE, If any, should be entered in additional lA entry option, if not available in regular entry.

2.CIE marks of the students who are eligible to appear for examination and not filed examination application form, should be entered in additional lA entry option, if not available in regular entry.

3.All CIE marks are to be submitted through online only and no manual hard copies will be entertained

4.Submit the printouts (hard copies) of CIE marks with the signature of the concerned faculty, Head of the Department and Principal to the respective Regional Offices on or before the last dates without fail.

5.Non submission/correction of CIE marks will be viewed seriously. The Principals of constituent and affiliated engineering colleges are requested to bring the contents of this circular to the notice of all the concerned .

VTU Official circular: VTU Minimum CIE Marks BE BTech 2018 Scheme

The Principals of affiliated Engineering Colleges are informed to note the following in case of CIE Marks of 2018 scheme subjects:

As per 1808 8.1 (b) and (c)

(1) The Minimum CIE marks for all theory courses shall be 40% of the maximum CIE marks to get eligible to write SEE.

(2) The Minimum CIE marks for Practical/ Mini-project / Internship/Technical Seminar/ Project work - Phase 2 shall be 50 % of the maximum CIE marks to get eligible to write SEE.

Further, the Subject 18EGDL15/25 - Engineering Graphics is considered as Theory subject.

What is CIE?

Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE): Refers to evaluation of students’ achievement in the learning process. CIE shall be by the Course Instructor and includes tests, homework, problem solving, group discussion, quiz, mini-project and seminar throughout the semester, with a weightage for the different components being fixed by the University.

 

What is SEE?

Semester End Examinations(SEE): Refers to the examinations conducted by the University covering the entire Course Syllabus. For this purpose, Syllabi to be modularized and SEE questions to be set from each module, with a choice confined to the concerned module only. SEE is also termed as University examination.

 

The students who do not score minimum CIE marks are not eligible to write the respective theory I practical subject examinations for SEE. The Principals of colleges must ensure that such students are not be allowed to write examinations in that subject, where the CIE marks are less than the minimum marks. However, as per 18088.4 such students who do not satisfy the CIE requirement are required to improve their CIE marks during subsequent semester when the course is offered. Only after scoring requisite CIE marks can students appear for SEE in the respective subjects.
