VTU Parallel Classes for PG Programmes
Continuation of 2010 scheme as parallel classes for higher semesters from 2019-20 onwards
It has been brought to the notice of the University by the Principals of College that there are few students who were admitted in 2010 scheme would be joining 5th semester during 2019-20.
The Principals were seeking clarification as to which scheme is applicable to them for continuation of their studies.Hence, it is hereby informed that the students admitted in 2010 scheme are required to continue in 2010 scheme only till the completion of their degree.
Hence, the Principals are informed to conduct parallel classes for the aforesaid students admitted in 2010 scheme and joining higher semester i.e. 5th/7th semester during 2019-20 and onwards till the completion of their degree.These students are required to abide by all other norms/regulations as applicable to them.
The Principals are directed to advice the students accordingly and due care has to be taken while sending lA marks and filing examination forms, as notified by the Registrar(Evaluation), VTU, Belagavi. This is for information and necessary action.
With reference to the above, it is hereby informed that University has received requests from colleges/students seeking admission of repeaters and readmission of students who were admitted under PG: 2016 scheme and PG: 2017 scheme to 3rd semester (MBA/MCA/M.Tech.) and 5th semester (MCA) for academic year 2019-20.
If these students are admitted to 2018 scheme, the old regulations in which they admitted will not be applicable to them. Also, it's noted that, very few such cases (i.e. students of 2016 and 2017 batches for M.Tech./MBA/MCA are existing)
Hence, the Colleges are informed to conduct parallel classes for such students as detailed below:

Further, this is not applicable for students who have already joined MCA programme in 2nd semester under 2018 scheme as per University Circular No. VTU/Aca/A-9/2019-20/213 dt: 5-4-2019. These students will be governed by 2018 scheme and regulations.Degree for such students will be awarded in 2018 scheme.
The colleges are also informed to hand hold all such aforesaid students in conduct of classes, CIE examinations, forwarding CIE marks to the University etc and as well as filing the proper examination applications.
