VTU has extended the last date to apply for change of college.

VisvesvarayaTechnological University (VTU) is inviting applications for change of college for 3rd semester undergraduate courses for the academic year 2023-2024 from students of VTU Affiliated colleges, Constituent colleges, and VTU Departments.

Interested Students of 3rd sem can apply for change of college for the academic year 2023-24.

• Registration fees of INR 600.
• All fees are to be paid online using the VTU Online Payment facility at https://prexam.vtu.ac.in/coc
• Change of college and change of branch together is permitted only for 3rd sem students.

Note 2: The students who are applying for change of college from another University to VTU Autonomous Colleges have to send scanned copies of the following document to email id - subhalbhavi@vtu.ac.in with a copy to office.suptd@vtu.ac.in. Copy of equivalence issued by the respective autonomous College.

NOC Format for admitting college and Relieving College

 

No Objection Certificate (NOC)s

1.The No Objection Certificate (NOC)s shall be issued after the date of notification from the University.

2. The NOCs issued after the last notified date will not be considered by the University.

3. The NOC of the admitting college shall clearly indicate the vacancy in numerical form as per format specified in Regulations.

 

Step by Step Procedure to Apply for VTU Change of College

(1)Go to the web browser and enter https://prexam.vtu.ac.in/coc.

(2)Student Login

Click on Student Login and input your prexam credentials such as your VTU College USN/ email id and password and Login. Note that this is applicable only for affiliated students. Non affiliated students firstly have to register themselves here and then click on student login.

(3)The Dashboard displays Profile, COC, COB, CWB, Pay Fees, Print Application, Final Submission. We will discuss each of these tabs in detail.

(4)Profile

First of all we start with Profile tab. Here, you must upload your recent photo. The specification of the photo are that the file size< 40kb and it is in jpg format.

Also, enter your basic details like

i)Name of student

ii) VTU COLLEGE USN

iv)Mobile No

v)Branch

vi)Semester

vii)Name of College

viii) Select Admission type

(5) COC

If you are applying only for Change of College, then you must fill the COC tab details such as

i)Name of student

ii)VTU College USN

iii)Name of Admitting College

iv)Name of Relieving College

v)Semester for which COC is sought

vi)Branch

vii)Correct postal address

viii)Upload documents such as NOC of releiving  college and NOC of admitting college in pdf format.

Select the checkbox next to "All the details entered in this form are correct and if found erronious I will be held responsible" and click on Save.

(6) CWB

If you are applying for Change of College with Change of Branch, then you must fill the CWB tab details such as

i)Name of student

ii)USN

iii)Name of Admitting College

iv)Name of Relieving College

v)Semester for which COC is sought

vi)Branch

vii)Correct postal address

viii)Upload documents such as NOC of releiving  college and NOC of admitting college in pdf format.

ix) Applying for Change of Branch- Select the branch for First Preference, Second Preference, Third Preference and Fourth Preference.

(7) COB

If you are applying for Change of Branch, then you must fill the COB tab details

(8)Fee Payment

Now, we see the Pay Fees tab. Once you submit the form, it redirects you to the Pay Fees. Click on Pay to pay Fees as per the circular. Refer University fees for the same.

i)To pay the fees go the SBI State Bank Collect Portal. First, click on checkbox and then click Proceed.

ii)Select the category as Fees to be paid by student-Academic from the dropdown.

iii) Now, fill all the required details of the form. Fields marked with Asterisk (*) are mandatory.

(9)Print Application

Click on Print Application tab. Download your application form and sign the form. Also, take your parent's signature on the form.

(10) Final Submission

This is a self declaration form where you must fill the below details same as those entered while making payment in SBI Collect .

i)Name

vi) DU Reference no- Example DU0000001

Check the checkbox that says "All the data entered by me is correct, if found incorrect I'm liable for any action by the University.

Finally, Click on Submit to Submit your Application for VTU Change of College.

 

University Fees :

1. The fees of Rs. 5000/- to be paid at the time of applying on VTU web portal at https://prexam.vtu.ac.in/coc (Contact for web portal entries(if any) 0831-2498130/2498188/2498133)

2. Change of College with Change of branch Fees of Rs. 10,000/- to be paid at the time of applying on VTU web portal at https://prexam.vtu.ac.in/coc (Contact for web portal entries(if any) 0831-2498130/2498188/2498133)

 

Migration from other University to VTU Non Autonomous Colleges:

a) Change of College fees of- Rs. 5,000/- to paid compulsorily

b) Syllabus Equivalence fees of Rs. 10,000/- (if already paid, inform the same)

 

Migration from Other University to VTU Autonomous College:

a) Change of College fees of- Rs. 5,000/-to paid compulsorily

b) Clearance Certificate fees of Rs. 5,000/-, (if already paid, inform the same)

 

Fees shall be paid online through VTU web portal (kindly visit www.vtu.ac.in) Further, the Principals of Constituent/ Affiliated/ Autonomous Colleges under VTU are hereby requested not to allow any student from other Colleges/ Universities to seek the admission or to attend classes without prior approval of VTU, Belagavi.

Students can now apply for VTU Change of College 2020-21.Students must satisfy certain conditions to apply for change of college.Different scenarios where students can apply for change of college is discussed below.

Conditions to Apply for Change of College

a) Transfer of students from one VTU affiliated college to another VTU afflliated college

i) Transfer of students from one VTU affiliated college to another VTU affiliated college shall be permitted only at the beginning of the third and fifth semesters of B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Plan., subject to

a) satisfying all clauses of COC 3 above

b) satisfying the eligibility as defined under the vertical progression of the respective programmes

 

b) Transfer of students from an Autonomous to Affiliated college under VTU

i) Transfer of students from VTU Autonomous college to VTU affiliated college shall be permitted only at the beginning of the third and fifth semester for B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Plan., subject to :

a) satisfying all clauses of COC 3 above

b) Students who are seeking transfer must have passed in all the Courses of all the previous semesters (nil 'F' grade from all the previous semesters).

(ii) Complete additional Course/s, if any, as per the decision of concerned bodies, i.e. Dean/ Board of Studies, as applicable for establishing equivalence between the two schemes. A grade-card shall be issued to that effect. Additional Course/s shall not be considered for the eligibility criteria prescribed for promotion, calculation of SGPA and CGPA. However, a pass in the additional Courses, if any, is mandatory before the completion of Degree.

 

c) Transfer of students from one Autonomous to another Autonomous college, under VTU

i) Transfer of students from one VTU Autonomous college to another VTU autonomous college shall be permitted only at the beginning of the third and fifth semester for B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch./B.Plan., subject to a) satisfying all clauses of COC 3 above

b) Students who are seeking transfer must have passed in all the Courses of all the previous semesters (nil 'F" grade from all the previous semesters).

ii) Complete additional Course/s, if any, as per the decision of concerned bodies i.e. academic Council of admitting college, on establishing equivalence between two schemes. A Grade card shall be issued to that effect. Additional Course/s shall not be considered for the eligibility criteria prescribed for promotion, calculation of SGPA and CGPA. However, a pass in the additional Courses , if any, is mandatory before the completion of Degree .

 

d) Transfer of students from Affiliated College to Autonomous college, under VTU

i) Transfer of students from one VTU affiliated college to another VTU autonomous college shall be permitted only at the beginning of third and fifth semester B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch /B.Plan, subject to

a) satisfying all clauses of COC 3 above

b) Students who are seeking transfer must have passed in all the Courses of all the previous semesters (nil 'F" grade from all the previous semesters) .

ii) Complete additional Course/s, if any, as per the decision of concerned bodies i.e. academic Council of admitting college, on establishing equivalence between two schemes. A grade-card shall be issued to that effect . Additional Course/s shall not be considered for the eligibility criteria prescribed for promotion, calculation of SGPA and CGPA. However, a pass in the additional Courses, if any, is mandatory before the completion of Degree .

 

e) Transfer of students from Day College to Evening College only with respect to Diploma Lateral Entry students

Transfer of students from Day College to Evening College shall be permitted only at the beginning of the fifth and seventh semesters for B.E./B.Tech subject to a) satisfying all clauses of COC 3 above

b) satisfying all clauses of a and b of COC 4 above, as applicable

Note: Such transfers at seventh semester will be subject to the scrutiny and recommendation of University's Equivalence Committee.

Further, the student has also to submit

a) Appointment letter from employer

b) Documentary proof: Date of joining, experience

c) No Objection Certificate from employer for continuation of study d) No Objection Certificate from Director of Technical Education, Govt. of Kamataka

 

f) Other University to VTU Afffiiated and Autonomous Colleges

a) Eligibility for applying: In the case of students seeking transfer from Universities other than VTU the following conditions shall be satisfied :

i) The students must satisfy the entry level academic qualification for UG programmes as notified by VTU, AICTE, & State Government from time to time

ii) Transfer is permitted only if the parent University has AICTE approval in case of Indian University and recognition of AIU, in case of foreign University.

iii)The students must have passed in all the Courses of I and II semesters for admission to III semester and I to IV semester for admission to V semester

iv) No transfer shall be permitted to VII semester B.E./B.Tech./ B.Plan. Programme of VTU from any other Universities.

v) No transfer shall be permitted to VII and IX semester B.Arch. Programme of VTU from any other Universities

vi) The student has to satisfy all clauses of COC 3 above along with he/ she has to submit Migration certificate from University at the time of admission to the college.

vii)The student has to complete an additional Course/s, if any, as per the decision of concerned bodies, i.e. Dean/ Board of Studies/ equivalence Committee/ Academic Council, as applicable for establishing equivalence between the two schemes. A grade-card shall be issued to that effect. Additional Course/s shall not be considered for the eligibility criteria prescribed for promotion, calculation of SGPA and CGPA. However, a pass in the additional Courses, if any, is mandatory before the completion of the Degree.

Change of College with Change of Branch for B.E./B.Tech.:

Change of College with Change of branch is permitted only at the beginning of the 3rd semester level of B.E./B.Tech. and satisfying the following:

a. All the regulations of Change of Branch as prescribed by the University

b. All the clauses of COC 3 above COC 6 Foreign national student admitted under any category / quota is not permitted for change of college. COC 7 Fee waiver (SNQ) category students are not eligible for Change of College as per Karnataka State Government norms (or as notified by the State Government from time to time)

 

COC 3 No Objection Certificates

i) The admitting college shall issue No Objection Certificate (Annx -A) only if there is availability of seats within the sanctioned intake in respective branch.

ii) The relieving College shall issue No Objection Certificate (Annx -B) only if the actual admissions will not fall below 75% of the admitted students at first level in the respective branch.

iii)The colleges (relieving and admitting) shall issue No Objection certificates

a) in the prescribed format only as notified by the University

b) after the announcements of respective even semester results against the notification in this regard by the University. iv) No college shall issue No Objection certificates after the last date as notified by the University under any circumstances.

v) The students shall obtain No Objection certificates from relieving college and admitting college.

vi) The student shall apply to the University, a) in the prescribed application format (Annx -C) b) No Objection certificates obtained from both the colleges

c) Non refundable fee and d)Other documents as notified by the University in this regard.

iv) The University after verifying the application of the students will issue its No objection certificate.

v) No student will be permitted to attend the classes in the new college until the receipt of the No objection certificate from the University. The student may continue to attend classes in the old college. The attendance and CIE would be transferred to the new college once the University issues the NOC .

vi) The student then may seek admission in the new college and complete the Programme as per the provisions of the Regulations governing the respective programmes (vi) Earn the credits decided by the University as per applicable regulations of the respective programme

Visvesvaraya Technological University Engineering college transfer procedure for 3RD SEMESTER for the academic year 2019-2020

 

With reference to the above, the Principals of all colleges (Constituent, Afftliated, Autonomous) under VTU, Belagavi are informed to follow the norms/guidelines given below for permitting Engineering College Transfer for 3rd semester for the year 2019-20.

PLEASE NOTE: PRESENTLY ENGINEERING COLLEGE TRANSFER AT ONLY 3RD SEMESTER LEVEL IS BEING CONSIDERED.

 

Norms to be followed:

1.Any student seeking change of college for 3rd semester shall continue in 2018 scheme as per this office Circular VTU/BGM/Aca-OS/Gen-cirs/2019-20/2813 dt: 25th July, 2019

2.Backlog papers, if any from I and II semester of previous scheme, shall be cleared in that scheme only, in the admitting college .

3.The Principals of both admitting college and relieving college shall verify and confirm the eligibility of student w.r.t. vertical progression as per Notification VTU /BGM/ Aca-OS/Gen-cirs/2019-20/3013 dt: 1st August, 2019

4.In case of candidates migrating in the following category shall not have any backlog papers from I year

a) Other Universities to VTU affiliated colleges

b) Other Universities to VTU Autonomous Colleges

c) VTU affiliated colleges to VTU Autonomous Colleges

d) VTU Autonomous Colleges to VTU affiliated colleges

e) VTU Autonomous Collges to VTU Autonomous Colleges

5.The students admitted in Second Shift and SNQ quota are not eligible for Change of College (Govt.Order ED 157 TEC 2018 (Part) dt: 11-07-2018 ).

6.The procedure and norms for Change of College is as per Annexure - I

7.The process must be completed by 30th August, 2019. 8.The NOCs shall be issued after the date of notification from the University.

9.The NOC issued after the last notified date will not be considered by the University.

10.The NOC of the admitting college shall clearly indicate the vacancy in numerical form as per format enclosed.

11.Change of College with Change of branch is permitted only at the beginning of III semester.

12. University Fees :

a)Change of College :Rs. 5,000/-

b)Change of College with Change of branch Rs. 10,000/- c)Migration from other University to VTU and Autonomous to VTU: Syllabus Equivalence Rs.10,000/-and Rs. 5,000/-

d)Migration from Other University to Autonomous College : Clearance Certificate Rs . 5,000/-

 

Fees shall be paid online through VTU web portal (kindly visit www.vtu.ac.in) Further, the Principals of Engineering Colleges Constituent/Affiliated to/ Autonomous under VTU are hereby requested not to allow any students from other Colleges/Universities to seek admission or to attend classes without prior approval of VTU, Belagaui.

 

ENGINEERING COLLEGE TRANSFER PROCEDURE FOR UG COURSES NORMS:

Annexure-I

1.Requests for Change of College will be entrained only at 3rd, 5th and 7th semester (and also 9th semester in case of B.Arch) .

2.Change of Branch only at III semester

3.Second shift and SNQ students are not eligible for Change of College/ Change of branch.

4.Requests for change of scheme i.e. VTU to Autonomous or vice versa is considered at 3rd or 5th semester only (i.e. either after completion of II or IV semester).

5.Student joining Autonomous Scheme from VTU scheme in the same college shall submit a declaration letter expressing his/her willingness to join the autonomous system and college should take prior approval from VTU for admitting students to Autonomous Scheme required to pay the fee of Rs. 1,500/-.

6.Requests for migration from other Universities to VTU affiliated and autonomous colleges is considered at 3rd or 5th semester only (i.e. either after completion of II or IV semester).

Please Note : ** if change of college with change of branch(only at III semester) is requested then fee of Rs.10,000/- shall be paid .

With reference to the official VTU Notification for Change of college, the Principals of all colleges (Constituent, affiliated, Autonomous) under VTU, Belagavi are informed to follow the norms/guidelines given below for permitting Change of College for 3rd semester for the year 2018-2019.

PLEASE NOTE: PRESENTLY CHANGE OF COLLEGE AT ONLY 3RD SEMESTER LEVEL IS BEING CONSIDERED.

VTU Norms/ Guidelines to be followed for change of college:

1. Any student seeking change of college for 3rd semester shall continue in 2017-18 scheme only as per Executive Council Resolution number 8.4 of 140th meeting held on 13th July 2018

2. Backlog papers if any from I and II semester of previous scheme attended by the student, shall be cleared in that scheme only, in the admitting college.

3. The Principals of both admitting college and relieving college shall verify and confirm the eligibility of student with respect to vertical progression and then only issue the NOCs(No Objection certificates)

4. In case of candidates migrating in the following category shall not have any backlog papers from I year

a) Other Universities to VTU
b) Other Universities to Autonomous scheme
c) VTU to Autonomous scheme
d) Autonomous scheme to VTU scheme
e) Autonomous scheme to Autonomous scheme

5. The students admitted in Second Shift and SNQ quota are not eligible for Change of College (Govt. Order ED 160 TEC 2016, dt: 24-06-2017).

6. The procedure and norms for Change of College is as per Annexure - I
 
7. The process must be completed from 11-08-2018 to 25-08-2018

NOTE: The Process of Change of Branch at college shall be completed as per norms.If vacancy exists at 3rd semester level after Change of Branch, then the college may issue NOC for Change of College.

8. The NOC issued after the last date notified will not be considered by the University.

9. The NOC of the admitting I re•leaving college shall clearly indicate the vacancy in numerical form as per the format enclosed.

10. Change of College with Change of branch is permitted only at the beginning of III semester

11. University Fees:

a) Change of College :Rs. 5,000/-

b) Change of College with Change of branch Rs. 10,000/-

c) Migration from other University to VTU and Autonomous to VTU: Syllabus Equivalence Rs. 10,000/- and Rs. 5,000/-(if already obtained, need not pay)

d) Migration from Other University to Autonomous College : Clearance Certificate : Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 5,000/(-if already obtained, need not pay)

Fees for Change of College for each student: Rs 5,000/-. The fees shall be paid ONLINE (Kindly visit University's website www.vtu.ac.in for fee payment)

Further, the Principals of Engineering Colleges Constituent/ afiliated to I Autonomous under VTU are hereby requested not to allow any students from other Colleges I Universities to seek admission or to attend classes without prior approval of
VTU. Belagavi.

VTU PROCEDURE FOR CHANGE OF COLLEGE  FOR UG COURSES
VTU Norms/ VTU Guidelines:

1. Requests for Change of College will be entrained only at 3rd, 5th  and 7th semester (and also 9th semester in case of B.Arch).
2. Change of Branch only at III semester
3. Second shift and SNQ students are not eligible for Change of College/ Change of branch.
4. Requests for change of scheme i.e. VTU to Autonomous or vice versa  is considered at 3rd or 5th semester only (i.e. either after completion of II or IV semester).
5. Student joining Autonomous Scheme from VTU scheme in the same college shall submit a declaration letter expressing his/her willingness to join the autonomous system and college should take prior approval from VTU for admitting students to Autonomous Scheme required to pay the fee of Rs. 1,500/-.

 

Please Note: ** If change of college with change of branch (only at 3rd semester) is requested then fee of Rs.10000 shall be paid.
