VTU Degree Certificates Dispatched

VTU has dispatched the Degree certificates to the regional centres and extension centres. The Degree certificates are for the students to whom the the degree was conferred during the Annual Convocation held on 10th March 2022. The Principals of the Constitute and Affiliated Engineering Colleges will be collecting the certifcates from the regional centres.

Students are advised to collect their degree certificates from their respective colleges.

What is VTU Degree Certificate?

VTU Degree Certificate is a degree certificate that certifies successful completion of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. VTU issues Degree certificates to both non-autonomous and autonomous colleges. It is imperative to note that students of autonomous colleges will see their college name on their VTU Degree Certificate. In comparison, Non-autonomous college students' degree certificate will not include their college names. In this article, we will see in detail when and how to apply for Degree Certificate.

Step by Step Procedure to Apply for VTU Degree Certificate

Generally, the college encourages the final year students to apply for Degree Certificate. Students fill the Convocation Application form during their final semester in college and submit through their respective college. But, if you did not submit the Convocation application form while in college, fret not; there is a way to apply now. Application for getting a degree certificate is an easy process.

Follow the below steps for applying for VTU Degree Certificate

(1) Download the application form using the below link

(2) Fill the following details in the application form

(i) Name of Student

(ii) Degree for which applied- Tick Degree applicable to you.

(iii)Fee Payment

a)To pay the fees, go to the SBI State Bank Collect Portal. First, click on the checkbox and then click Proceed.

b)Select the category as Fees to be paid by student-Academic from the dropdown.

c) Now, fill in all the required details of the form—Fields marked with Asterisk (*) are mandatory.

(iv) After paying your fees, enter the fee payment details such as Amount of Fees, Payment ID, and Date.

(v) Non-CBCS Scheme: Enter the details of month and year of passing for each semester from 1st to 8th Sem. Also, mention first attempt total, class obtained.

CBCS Scheme: Enter Month and Year of completion. Also, enter CGPA at the end of the Academic Program.

(vi) Photograph: Then Affix your photograph in the space provided.

(vii) Attestation: Obtain signature on your photograph and second page of the application from your College Principal or any Gazetted Officer.

(viii) Degree Certificate Particulars: Enter details such as your name, year of passing, class obtained, Date of birth, Candidate Signature, Mobile number, Email id, Alternative Mobile.

(ix) To be Filled by Applicant in BLOCK Letters: POSTAL ADDRESS TO WHICH DC IS TO BE SENT: Ensure that you enter your address correctly here as the University will paste this address on an envelope. At a later date, you will receive your degree certificate as per the address mentioned here.

(x) Declaration to be signed by the candidate: Ensure that you sign the declaration on the 2nd page of the application and remember to take the Principal/ Gazetted Officer's signature with Date and seal.

(xi) To Be Filled By Applicant In BLOCK Letters: Enter your address correctly here.

(5)There are two scenarios here.

Scenario 1: If you are currently studying in the 8 Semester and apply for convocation, you must submit your convocation application and the 8th-semester examination application to your college. And the Principal of the College will send applications of all the students to the registrar.

Scenario 2: If you are a student applying for convocation after completing your graduation a few years back, then send your filled and signed convocation application by post/ courier directly to the below address

When will VTU Issue my Degree Certificate?

VTU issues Degree Certificates to students on the Convocation day. Typically, VTU holds a convocation function once a year and awards degree certificates to the students. For instance, students who completed their degree in exams held during Jan 2019 and July 2019 were awarded VTU Degree Certificate in the Convocation held on 8th February 2020. VTU is holding the VTU Convocation 2021 on 3rd April 2021, where Gold medalists and first rank holders will receive their degree certificates from the VTU Chancellor. Others can collect their degree certificates on 4th April 2021 from VTU Registrar.

You can get your VTU Degree Certificate verified and attested by VTU. All you need to do is download the application form for attestation. Then send it through post/ courier along with the fee receipt after making an online payment. You must pay Rs 300 online to attest to your degree certificate.

Important Points to Remember

1. Students must fill the Convocation Application along with the final semester examination Application. You need not enclose anything with the application form.

2. If there is any change in mailing address, you must intimate the same before the VTU Convocation 2021 date 3rd April 2021.

3. VTU will adjust the convocation fee accordingly if a student fails in the final examination or has arrear subjects.

4. VTU Convocation date for 2021 is 3rd April 2021 as per the latest VTU circular.

5.VTU notifies the list of Gold Medalists, First Rank Holders, Prize Winners, and  Doctorates after the announcement of the Convocation date. VTU Chancellor will honour the Doctorates, Gold Medalists / First Rank Holders, and the Prize Winners with degree certificates at the convocation. However, other degree holders will receive the Degree Certificate by SpeedPost or courier to the student's address in this application form. If you desire to collect the degree certificate in person, you can collect it from the VTU registrar on 4th April 2021.

6. You can directly apply to the VTU Registrar (Evaluation) office (Evaluation), VTU Belagavi- 590018, if you apply for convocation during subsequent years of graduation. The HOD/ Gazetted Officers will attest to such applications. You must pay the convocation fee online via http://vtu.ac.in/online-fee-payment.

Every year, the Principals must send all filled convocation applications and fee details directly to the VTU Registrar's office (Evaluation) before 31st May.
