Eligibility Criteria to Apply for VTU Branch Change 2021

You must satisfy the vertical progression norms and be permitted to 3rd semester to be eligible to apply for VTU Branch Change 2021. Let's see in detail the vertical progression norms that apply to BE Regular students and BE Lateral Entry students.

For a BE Regular Student

• You must not have more than four F grades in the two semesters of first year of BE to become eligible to move to the 3rd semester of second year.
• You have fulfilled the attendance requirement.
• You have satisfied the CIE requirements of any course
• You have registered yourself for SEE.

For BE Diploma Student (Lateral entry)

• You must not have more than four F grades in the two semesters of first year of BE (excluding the Additional Mathematics I and II) to become eligible to move to the 3rd semester of second year.
• You have fulfilled the attendance requirement (including Additional Mathematics I and II)
• You have satisfied the CIE requirements of any course (including Additional Mathematics I and II)
• You have registered yourself for SEE.

 

 

Change of Branch VTU 2021 Fees

You must pay your application fee online through the VTU website, www.vtu.ac.in and the University fee at your college. The College will transfer the University fee collected from students to the University along with the list of students recommended for Change of Branch for the University's approval.

Step-by-Step Procedure to Apply for VTU Branch Change 2022

(1)Go to the web browser and enter https://prexam.vtu.ac.in/coc.

(2)Student Login

Click on Student Login and input your prexam credentials such as USN/ email id and password and log in. Note that this applies only to affiliated students. Non-affiliated students first have to register themselves here and then click on student login.

(3)The Dashboard displays Profile, COC, COB, CWB, Pay Fees, Print Application, Final Submission. We will discuss each of these tabs in detail.

(4)Profile

First of all we start with Profile tab. Here, you must upload your recent photo. The specification of the photo are that the file size< 40kb and it is in jpg format.

Also, enter your basic details like

i)Name of student

ii) USN

iii)Email ID

iv)Mobile No

v)Branch

vi)Semester

vii)Name of College

viii) Select Admission type

(5) COB

If you are applying only for Change of Branch, then you must fill the COB tab details such as

i)Name of student

ii)USN

iii)Name of College

iv)Present Branch

v)Semester 

vi)Admittted Quota

vii)Applying for Change of Branch to-Select the Branch for First Preference, Second Preference, Third Preference and Fourth Preference.

Select the checkbox next to "All the details entered in this form are correct and if found erronious I will be held responsible" and click on Save.

 

Also note that if you are applying for Change of college then you must fill COC tab and if your are applying for Change of college with Change of Branch then must fill the CWB tab.

(6)Fee Payment

Now, we see the Pay Fees tab. Once you submit the form, it redirects you to the Pay Fees. Click on Pay to pay Fees as per the circular.

i)To pay the fees go the SBI State Bank Collect Portal. First, click on the checkbox and then click Proceed.

ii)Select the category as Fees to be paid by student-Academic from the dropdown.

iii) Now, fill all the required details of the form. Fields marked with Asterisk (*) are mandatory.

(7)Print Application

Click on Print Application tab. Download your application form and sign the form. Also, take your parent's signature on the form.

(8) Final Submission

This is a self declaration form where you must fill the below details same as those entered while making payment in SBI Collect .

i)Name

ii)DOB

iii)Mobile No

iv)Email Id

v)Payment date

vi) DU Reference no- Example DU0000001

Check the checkbox that says "All the data entered by me is correct, if found incorrect I'm liable for any action by the University.

Finally, Click on Submit to Submit your Application for VTU Change of Branch.

 

 

Faqs

1. Can I change Branch in VTU?

You may submit an application online to change Branch in VTU.

 

2. Can I change Branch in engineering after first year?

You can apply for Change of Branch if you meet the eligibility criteria to move to the 3rd semester. However, the University prepares a merit list of students based on which the College will recommend alottment of Branch. So, if you score well in the first year of BE you have a better chance of getting your Change of Branch approved.

 

3. Should I clear all my subjects in my 1st year to change Branch?

As per VTU vertical progression norms, you must not have failed in more than 4 subjects in the 1st year to be promoted to 3rd semester and thereby gain eligibility to apply for branch change.
