Step by Step Procedure for Online Filing of VTU PREXAM Application Form

1.You can file VTU Exam Application Form in 2 ways. Either the student, himself/herself, can file the exam application form, or the college can fill the exam application form on behalf of the student.  Departmental login/Student login displays the user manual for the entire process.

2. If you are a student filing the exam application form. Then start by entering the Exam form website: https://prexam.vtu.ac.in web browser [Google Chrome is recommended]

3. The portal will direct you to this page. Here, you will see two tabs-UG & PG. Click on UG for the UG Exam Application form

4. VTU Student login

The portal will direct you to this page. Click on the Student button for VTU Student Login.

 

5.You will reach this screen-VTU Student Portal. Here, enter your USN no and password provided by your college & click on login. The college/ Department authorizes the student to file the application form by providing him/her password.

6.On the first login, he/she has to register his/her mobile number and email id and change the password. It is advisable to give the mobile number that you use regularly and a valid email id.

7.You will reach the UG Student application Form screen.

Scenario 1- If Application is for Regular UG student with no arrears.

In the 1st section-student details, enter USN, Student name, Branch code, Student Type, College, Semester & Scheme.

The 2nd section-Subject, Details, highlights the Regular subjects in blue. Click on the Checkbox corresponding to the subject to apply for the subject. The portal highlights the Elective subjects in orange. Select the elective subjects from the drop-down.

 

In the 3rd section-Fee Details, the total exam fees for the subjects applied will display. You must pay the total exam fees as displayed on the below screen.

 

If you have filled the exam application form correctly, click on submit to submit the exam application form.

 

 

Scenario 2- UG student with only arrear subjects.

In the 1st section-student details, enter USN, Student name, Branch code, Student Type, College, Semester & Scheme.

In the 2nd section-Subject Details, the portal will display only arrear subjects in the below screen if you have only arrear subjects. You can uncheck a particular subject if you do not wish to write that arrear subject now and apply for other arrear subjects.

In the 3rd section-Fee Details, the total exam fees for the subjects applied will display. You must pay the total exam fees as displayed on the below screen.

If you have filled the exam application form correctly, click on submit to submit the exam application form.

 

Scenario 3- UG student with Regular & Arrear subjects Exam application.

In the 1st section-student details, enter USN, Student name, Branch code, Student Type, College, Semester & Scheme.

 

The 2nd section-Subject, Details, highlights the Regular subjects in blue. Click on Checkbox next to the subject to apply for the subject. It highlights the Elective subjects in orange. Select the elective subjects from the drop-down.

And Arrear subjects are also displayed in the below screen. You can uncheck a particular subject if you do not wish to write that arrear subject now and apply for other arrear subjects.

In the 3rd section-Fee Details, the subjects' total exam fees ( Regular, Electives & Arrears) applied will display. You must pay the total exam fees as displayed on the below screen.

If you have filled the exam application form correctly, click on submit to submit the exam application form.

 

Scenario 4- UG student with Basic cycle/ Specialization

The 1st section-student details enter USN, Student name, Branch code, Student Type, College, Semester & Scheme.

 

In the 2nd section-Subject Details, if you have any basic cycle-Physics Cycle/Chemistry Cycle or have a specialisation such as an MBA (FM/MM/HR). Then select the appropriate one from the drop-down.

In the 3rd section-Fee Details, the total exam fees for the subjects applied will display. You must pay the total exam fees as displayed on the below screen.

If you have filled the exam application form correctly, click on submit to submit the exam application form.

 

8.Application Status

Once you submit the application form, the status of the application form will change as below.

 

9.Upload your recent passport size (max 40KB) photo. Once you upload your photo, the application status will change as below. Finalise Application button is enabled for you after completing the application form and uploading a photo.

If you wish to make any changes in your exam application, click on Incomplete/Edit Application. Once you send your application for college approval, you cannot edit the application anymore.

10.Click on the Finalize Application button. It asks for confirmation as follows. Click OK.

11.Again, it asks for confirmation as follows. Click OK.

12.It asks for another confirmation as follows. Click OK.

13.Once finalised, the Status of Finalize Application for college approval will change as follows

14.Now, Click on the View Application Form. The portal will display below Screen.

15.Take a printout of the completed application form and sign it. You must submit a signed printout of the application and the fee to the college.

16. The College will approve the application after receiving the signed printout and the student's fee.

17.After approval of the college, The University will generate a hall ticket on the given date.

1.Students can file the examination application form online by visiting the link https://prexam.vtu.ac.in and using the student login option.

2. Students to use the User id and password given during the August/ September 2020 exam.

4.Ensure that you are present at the college campus at least 1 hour and 30 minutes before the starting examinations.
